Russell is a registered Dispensing Optician with the General Optical Council (registration number D-13407).
Russell offers NHS WGOS3 Low Vision services
Qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2010 and then went on to train as a Low Vision Optician for the Low Vision Service Wales and completed this in 2015.
In May 2023, after 18 years working for a large multiple practice, and then almost 2 years working for an independent practice he took the big step of setting up on his own as South Wales Low Vision Clinic.
In 2017 Russell was awarded the title of Optician of the Year from the Macular Society and also a 5 Star Award from Wales Council for the Blind.
He has also been fortunate enough to be recognised as a finalist and runner up in awards from the South Wales Argus and Optician Magazine
Katie O’Donnell FBDO Prof Cert LV
Katie is a registered Dispensing Optician with the General Optical Council (registration number D-16585).
Katie offers NHS WGOS3 Low Vision Services.
Katie joined the South Wales Low Vision Clinic team in early 2026.
She is a fully qualified Dispensing Optician and NHS Wales accredited Low Vision Optician
Nicola Ham
As well as being office manager for the company, Nicola is co-director with Russell.
She has worked in various healthcare rolls for almost 40 years
